Great we always need a cold soda pop! That name brings ya back to watching black and white TV. Razz
Yes, of coarse it is made with mustard. All good homemade potato salad will have real mayonnaise and yellow mustard. No Miracle Whip or Grey Poupon... Laughing
Glad you can be there it should be a fun time! bounce

I had purchased one of the 64 Chevy models a while ago. I never did models as a young person, so I am having my friend assemble the guts.
I would not begin to know how to put a model engine ect. together. So, at least I could paint the model. I obviously am matching my van's paint scheme. At least as close as spray paint can do. Fun little project, I wish I would have learned about doing models as a child. But, that was a boy hobby. In those days girls were steered towards Easy Bake Ovens... Not The Little Red Wagon model! Better late than never I always say!!

Allow me to be the first to post a photo of today’s barbecue on Fiesta Island! Jacke is there early, saving our spot! And we’ve got a beautiful day with temps in the mid 80s!

Sorry the cooked dogs had vanished! If the coals were still hot, I would have cooked some up for you on the spot.
But, when you arrived I was on to packing up at 3:30... I arrived at 10 AM so I was ready to hit the road. But, next time I will save a few cooked dogs for the late arrivals. Smile
I was glad you made it anyway! Your van was being appreciated by the crowd as I drove off. sunny

Nope. Just flew up and back! I will be up there permanently in the next couple years.
But, wow was it cold! I never thought I would be glad my engine will be warm next to me, down here!
But up in the PNE it will be appreciated. I was able to drive in the ice and little 2 " of snow No No . But it was slow and steady, not racing around for me. I am sure I showed I was not a local, by my timid speed in the ice. Oh well, I made it home safe. Afterwards they closed the I-90 because cars were crashing off the road.

I hope to get a bit used to cold weather over the next couple years in preparation for the real deal!

VaAgain (Rich) is going to help fix the locks on the side doors, I tried my handy work and got zilch to work. So I have to call in the knowledge to get it accomplished. Thank goodness I have help. I cannot figure this stuff out on my own. Not experienced enough.

So after 4 years of not having all my van doors be able to lock... Today, van Again, Rich was able to check them out, took him ten minutes to see and fix the problem!
I had added a rubber hose to the end of the pawl (following a thread I saw) it turned out to be about 1/8" too long and was stopping the action. He pulled it off the end of the pawl, lubed up the mechanism and DONE! The door on the side same thing and one bar was slightly off, he bent it back and same as the other door, DONE!
Simply knowledge and good eyesight! Both of which I am lacking... Razz Laughing

    Thanks AGAIN Rich!

    GMC Jacke's van - Page 37 Wiper_10

So, I find that the wiper button? is not able to stay on without being held down? Great concept previous owner developed... I had to hold it down to make the wipers work, while driving a 3-speed? Hmmm Mad
So my next project is to change out the button for a switch on my wipers. The dash change moved the wiper down by the Heater switch. Which is better than butchering the dash.
Should not be too hard for me to do. I can do basic stuff... when needed. LOL

Yes, but this New Year has put a little spark back in this retiree. I have a good attitude and will be getting the van back in my sights!
Little tweaks needed here and there... #1 is upgrades for the brake system in my plans, which is costly when you have it done by any company. I have to do it, no way around it, if I care about safety of myself, my van and others. I can afford some work done even though it is painful. LOL New this, new that... then see what I still need or want to do. Laughing
