Nice touch! This is the crown jewel for Goldie! Come on over Saturday and I'll be the safety inspector when you put it on!

Re: GMC Jacke's van
That panel with the switch and charging ports would have been simple to install, just +12V and ground, and then the switch turns on the volt meter, the USB ports, and the cigarette lighter. But Jacke swapped out the voltmeter with one that shows volts for two batteries. So, to get the switch to cut the power from both batteries to the meters required two relays. And we wanted the charging ports to run off the battery selected on the big red battery selector switch she installed. It was a fun puzzle to figure out how to wire! I drew up a wiring diagram but we still ended up making a change or two while wiring it up.

Re: GMC Jacke's van
Egg-Selent, well deserved!!! Nice when you get to see that others appreciate the effort involved in creating a van as nice as yours!
It's good to know that evidently you're tall enough to lock your door, turn the lights on and off and adjust the thermostat...Hee, Hee Hee!!!

Re: GMC Jacke's van
Thanks!
So my next work project will need to be a deluxe wheel.
It turned out my wheel is not a deluxe. I have a deluxe wheel which came with the horn ring, just needs a little TLC and paint. This wheel restoration should turn out the best, as I have done two now a third, and I keep learning how to do things better.
Trial and error learning on the first wheel, gained knowledge from the 2nd on chip repair, now my last wheel should be the best yet... I will begin the process since it is raining again today.

I just have a two tone leather steering wheel cover to install. The other standard wheel will be sold with the solid black leather cover...$120 + shipping.
Then just redoing of the single master and new brake lines is the last needed thing! I know I should have done it before now, but better do it before I have any brake problems.

Re: GMC Jacke's van
This was a huge show with all types of fancy stuff... from a formula racer to a monster truck.
It was at the Shadow mountain church out on Greenfield. The guy who is starting the van club Jack invited me. Nice folks, they gave out hot dogs and root beer and gift bags for attending. Some beautiful cars out there. There was a 57 Chevy Bel Air Nomad... really cool car.

Russell,
I love the way you two-toned your Sportvan!!! The dark around the bottom and windows and the light around the middle and on top...Stunning!
Jacke,
Sounds like a nice assortment of vehicles and the mention of free hot dogs and root beer has got my mouth watering!!!
Sounds like y'all had a Great Time!

Yes, I agree with both your statements! Russell did a fine job on his paint!!
The show was good, nice folks who showed genuine interest in the old hoopties.

Re: GMC Jacke's van
Thanks!
At first because they did not have our van pattern...of coarse, I was a little intimidated to make the pattern for the driver side... but the mats came out fine. The company is back in NC and they do all the work like the old days, by hand!
The mats are very sturdy and tough as a coconut!

I like those mats a lot. Looks like your pattern turned out well. Could you put the vendors name and contact info on the site?

Well thanks! They have many styles and colors to select from, really cool old school & hand made. They are made not too far from your area, made in NC, I believe.
