So, both my tunnel & my 1st gen sway bar won't arrive til mid June... Hmmm need a project?

When I owned my 1st 1964 Chevy van in the 80's. Front masks (bra) were all the rage for vehicles!

I made one back then for my van and it kept the bugs off the front. I even cut out the emblem shape so my orange Chevy would show through.

I decided Goldie needed her front protected as well... so I am starting a new project! Here is the first
fitting to see size for measurements. I am gonna work on it this weekend, hopefully get it cut to shape, with the area cut to open for air at the bottom. I will tack it and have it sewn by my upholstery guy. I will have the top have welting as well as around the headlights for shape.

I have not even worked on the Lone Ranger Mask (I like that) since my first idea, had to work on the car I am giving my grandson first.

In the mine-time... I found what I believe is one of the few items that is very rare to find.

Gary (Gfleduc) had an original NOS front rubber floor mat! I had one of these in my first '64 van.
It was from the Chevy house, this mat is a JC Whitney.

But STILL rare to find unused. Thanks to Gary for saving this and it even has the original box it came in, wow.

My carpet is like new, but, I have learned... "the time to buy it, is when you see it". So down the road, when needed, I have a great floor mat to install. Goldie is set for some time to come.

I still have to install the other Holy Grail's I have acquired... an original unused original 1964 antenna and the window rain/wind shields. I paid too much for both of these in reality, but I am fine with my extravagances. Goldie deserves it Razz queen

Well it's been awhile since my last posting... I had an emergency Open Heart Triple Bypass surgery on June 19th. Everything went well... I had three 90% clogged arteries. One they call the Widow Maker... lucky for me, that was not the case.
I will need to rest and get better before I attempt anything work wise on Goldie. But, I am glad to still be here and able to post.
Wow what a ride this has been... my best to all of you Very Happy

Yikes, hope you take it easy for a while. Glad to hear you're still with us and itching to get back to the fun. I noticed you hadn't been posting much lately and I was almost afraid to ask. Happy you're OK and glad to hear from you again. I'm sure Goldie was concerned as well. She's gotten a lot of attention from you and she's given you a lot of love in return. Welcome back, both of you!!!

Thanks Richard! I am spending my days relaxing and healing up! I have had some time to buy some toys on Ebay... shopping therapy. cheers
I got a really nice side door handle that was NOS. I can always use a good chrome handle!
It is odd being weak? But I am getting stronger everyday.
But, I will follow your instructions and do something for myself everyday, Thanks for the kind thoughts, I appreciate it greatly.

I go my Air Tunnel yesterday! I am excited as I am feeling better... and am BORED with just watching the clouds go by... Rolling Eyes
So my tunnel is my next project. It is 100 degrees out here today! Last week it was 112 on my covered patio. It hot enough to melt the enamel on the bathtub!
I have enlisted the aid of my good friend Rich VanAgain to do some welding for this project. I am going to have it powder coated to match the doghouse, Satin Black.
Next project is getting some Ceramic Film on that front windshield and the side windows. For that I am looking at a couple of places? I was wondering if Samsvan used the 3M Crytalline brand film? Let me know what brand you may think is best. I do not want it tinted as I need to see the road.
