That's another Fantastic transformation on the left coast. Good group of Vanners out there who chip in and get things done! cheers cheers cheers

Did the padded doghouse lid no longer fit once the seats and larger engine went in? I had forgotten about that until you just posted those old pics...

The doghouse was new... the engine came with the van originally. And you are correct the old doghouse was a 1st Gen, I went to a 2nd Gen to accommodate the V8. I traded Donivan the padded cover for a second gen cover to fit. I have a another 2nd Gen cover... Hmmm maybe I should get that one padded Laughing ! LOL projects will never end...

Sorry about that, Jacke...but that pad really looked good and probably would reduce the chance of arm or hand scorching! I have to stop thinking out loud ... gotta stop listening to the voices in my head! What a Face affraid affraid

Yes your voices are talking to my voices! LOL
I did like the padded cover. My first van had that I had it made and it did help with the heat from the motor.
But now that I have installed the air tunnel, the box is really not a scorcher. But it is not summer yet. I really will have that other lid covered... you know me... extra set of back doors and an extra lid padded, sounds good.
This weekend I am taking Goldie to Fiesta Island for the day! Gonna bask in the reflection of my van by the water. I will take photos it is suppose to be 78 at the coast on Saturday.
I dropped her off at the paint shop today for some touch up around the door wells inside and the new door stay welds. I am over doing paint jobs if I can help it.
Then I can finish up the sun visor installation. I can do that job LOL just six holes and screws.

Dropped off the van for some touch up repairs yesterday, got some photos last night, my guy was still working at 7:30.
The previous owner had drilled holes to secure the door, I guess? Anyway, no more holes... doors and welds all fresh and new.

I installed the lighter today... mostly for the charge option. I am putting in a rear camera so the monitor needs a plug in... now I will see those big trucks going around me, when I am backing out of my steep driveway. I can see the elderly and dogs maybe children too! It will be a whole new world back there!! affraid affraid

Took a spin today all over...listened to some good old Rock and Roll up loud! Filled up my van and added my Grape scent to the fuel!! Now it smells like a grape soda when I drive by...
Did a couple little things so I will be all ready for the show season. I added labels with white letters to the defroster/air front. I also added a step grit to the front. I needed a little contrast from the black. The step can get slippery if wet... yes I have fallen out on my knee once!

So, with my horn ring project I have tried to get the fastest turnaround shipping wise... so I provided a UPS acct number, paid before it was completed so no delay, simple right.

F*** NO... the chrome place does not use UPS... but the staff did not inform me... my ring should have shipped at the latest MONDAY!

The shop supervisor JUST called he had to hand carry to a UPS store???? He has waited five days after it was completed to walk it over, "when he could get away"... geeezzzzz!

Customer service is NIL in my experience today. From the clerk who doesn't count your change back, to the staff who could care less about serving your needs as a customer.

OMG, just communicate that you use FEDEX THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE TOO.
NOW I HAVE TO WAIT MORE MORE MORE...  Sad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
Who knows when I might receive the package... five more days  Mad Mad Mad

I am going to hammer some rocks... that would be more successful. I am not going to plan anything anymore. I quit, just tell me what, when and how and I will just nod.

Time for a beer... thanks for listening. I feel better now  Surprised

Wow! Jacke, relax, take a deep breath and exhale...the ring will arrive and things will be OK. Your van looks Fantastic already and the ring will just make it that much better. I'm glad you got this off your chest and have decided to have a beer to take off the edge... Very Happy What a Face

JR, I sure would like to have Dr Phil’s do-re-mi!!! It’s funny you said that because the camp we go to every summer sometimes has talent shows and they asked me to play the role of Dr Phil in one of the skits...how ironic! If I keep losing what little hair I have left and shave my mustache, I could start a rent-a-therapist business...hee, hee hee 😜
