Dons day,,,,,,,

I made my trip to Chicago last month,,,,,had a visitor waiting for me when I got back,,,,,,,,,,,Had a pretty big Earthquake here last night,,,,,,But we need to get back to Vannin,,,,,,today I met up with 2 vanettes,,,,Jacke has a Yellow GMC with a V8 in it,,,,,,,,and Corvair Sue has decided that a 1st Gen Chevy would be better than a CorVan,,,,so,,,,,looks like we will be seeing some van repairs coming up,,,,,,,,

Good to see some vanettes out there! They're lucky to live so close to the Chevy guru!

Well,,,,,Meyer has hit a rough patch in the road,,,,,last year I pulled the engine out of his van at Richs house and took it to the engine shop,,,,and now its sitting along the side of the road with all the parts inside it at the Beach,,,,covered with dirt,,,,looking abandoned,,,,I dont like that,,,,,,,thats just asking for trouble in my book,,,,someone is going to see that engine and trans sitting in there and see a quick $50 at the recycling center,,,,,or its going to be towed away,,,,,so I went there yesterday and took the engine, head, trans and other parts to hang on to them,,,,Corvair Sue came along with me to talk to Meyer about buying it,,,,,,,so lets see if they come up with some kind of agreement,,,,,,    

Good idea! Better to get it running again than to let it sit doing nothing but collecting dust. Hope it works out for both of them.

so,,,,,I go over to Jacke's house today to take a look at the 66 Chevy van someone just sold her,,,,,,,I am going to start her a section in the Members Vans,,,,,,,I think she got something  interesting going on,,,,,,,

Since the SuzyVan has been parked at the Beach, I need to wash the salt off it,,,,,because,,,,,,as we all all know,,,,salt aint good for anything,,,,,,just look what it did to Surfer Scotts hair,,,, he is out there surfing probably every day,,,,,,,

yep,,,,I need to start seeing stuff looking pretty,,,,,,,,I guess installing the oil pump strainer on the oil pump is a start,,,,,,I guess the bolts are in one of those boxes,,,,,,I am not liking this 12 bolt, 4:11 positraction,,,,,,says 12-6-89 on it,,,,,,,It aint a 65 Chevy Van rear end for sure,,,,,,

Yes, this GMC has a 69 Camaro 350 with a Quadra jet carb. When I start it you know I am here!
The first time I drove it I left scratch as it had so much power and I was not ready! LOL

I think there are now Fiero seats in it ,,,,and I dont think she is going to want those,,,,,

Hey Don, my 2 vans look abandoned in my driveway because if I left them on the street they would be towed, not by you but by the police.
There is a suite at the Hampton Inn for you whenever you want to drive the 200+ miles and help me work on mine..LOL

You saw the white GMC 4 years ago in Pasadena (like you would remember). You helped me get it running and drivable and I was so proud of it, took the 75 mile roundtrip to see you at the Rose Bowl scared out of my ass it wouldn't blow up, break down or run out of gas on the freeway with no speedometer, no gas gage, but it didn't and I had a great time with you. Then reality stepped in. I got all the body parts to repair the rust but it was going to cost me way to much to have it done than I'm willing or could afford to spend. So I found this Chevy in a lot better shape.
Now I need to pull the engine from the GMC, get it looked at along with the 3 speed transmisson. The Chevy is lowered, they removed 2 leafs from both front and back, I know I will be hauling stuff with it, so I want to get it back to original, so I need to swap out both front and rear leafs. Take everything else off the GMC I or someone can possibly use in the future, or give the GMC to someone that needs whatever is left, I will only get like $100 bucks if I scrap it here in LA LA land. That's what I would like to do my friend.

Don, the Chevy does, we never did figure out what was in the GMC.
I have a 10 bolt I got a while back for the GMC.
