if its a 12 bolt cover, its a 3:73 or 4:11 and there are numbers on the ring gear that tell you the teeth,,,,,11-37 is a 10 bolt 3:36 highway use rear end,,,,as I pack up my tools and head for Jackes,,,,,

Take a well-deserved break and go run under a sprinkler!!! We're supposed to hit 90 this weekend here this weekend. That's pretty high for this time of the year here.

Re: Dons day,,,,,,,
Hey Don, those parts from Suzy's Chevy van look mighty familiar! Sorry some of them got a little rusty sitting in my driveway--for a year! I'm so glad to see things getting cleaned up, a coat of paint, and coming together!
Suzy, you've got it made in the shade there at Donivan's! Things will get done twice as fast with you working alongside Don.
Really glad to see that 4:11 getting replaced with a more MPG-friendly 3:36 (unless you were planning on doing some drag racing!). I've got the one in the middle, the 3:73, but I've also got a tranny with overdrive. I might switch to a 3:36 someday.
Some of the parts on your van have my fingerprints on them. I got that "burger fan" for my van, but your van needed it sooner (I've since picked up another). Let me know what you think of it. (Is it quiet enough? Push enough air to clear out the heat and fumes when parked at In-And-Out?)
I helped do the swap to a 2nd Gen master cylinder, and bend the new brake lines. And that's got Don's 2nd Gen sway bar too, so you don't have to cut notches in the belly pan! You can see it in this photo, dropping down to clear the longer master cylinder:
And I helped make the new wire loom for the engine compartment. We cannibalized a loom from a 70s Chevy car to get the right terminals for the newer alternator and to eliminate the external voltage regulator. The best part was replacing the stock connector with the tiny pins with a big plug from a newer car where wires pass through the firewall. Very rugged, with the same full-size spade connectors used everywhere else on the van. All the wires are crimped and soldered to those terminals. You can see one end of it in this shot:
I've got a roll of that same insulation you put in the doghouse. Did you use 3M spray mount? It's not super thick. How do you think it will perform?
