,,,,,,other things I am doing besides spending 1000's of hours working on the guys vans out here.......1st up,,,,waterpump on my van making noise so I changed it.....
,,,once upon a time I poured pads for my motorhome tires to park on,,,,,I think I need to get 100 bags of concrete and turn those pads to a slab,,,,,
So while waiting for 38 bags of concrete to dry,,,,,I got more concrete repairs to do,,,,,actually I had the rear doors open when trying to back a trailer around a corner to my dirt pile and the trailer bent the lower end of my right rear door in,,,,so I dug out the STUD GUN,,,,,,
Don, that stud gun looks like a great tool for pulling out dents. I've got some dents by my driver's side headlight and on the passenger's door. Is the stud gun very expensive? How difficult is it to use? What other tools are needed to make this type of repair? Looks like it does a pretty nice job of straightening out the dents. Thanks in advance for any info or advise!

Well,,,,,I am here to entertain you,,,,,sometimes actual useful information gets mixed in,,,,,you don't want to slap a 1/2" of Bondo to fill in dents,,,,you need to pull them out,,,,the tool of choice is a SLIDE HAMMER,,,,they have a sheet metal screw on the end,,,,put a hole in the dent,,,screw it in,,,grab the heavy weight on the handle,,,slam it towards you to try and pull the dent out,,,,,but you get a lot of holes,,,,the electric stud gun uses copper nails that melt and stick to the dent as soon as you push the gun against the metal,,,then the slide hammer grabs the nail and you slam the dent out,,,,,,,,,cut the nail off with snippers,,,,Harbor Freight guns are like around $80 on sale,,,,
Yeah, I was familiar with the screw type but would love to avoid all the holes. Thanks again Don for all the useful info you continually provide for us! I definitely want to give this a try cause I don't want this van to be a bondo bucket!
