Haha yeah this is sketch over sketch over sketch, just talking and drawing to explain what we where saying. But maybe you can discover a van in the middle, nose to the bottom. It has a bed in the back with some storage space next to it, and a (fold)table in between the bed and front seats. I like the way the Westfalia campers are made:
I want to try to make a simple version based on this, seems very functional to me!
Right now, we got a van meet on Sunday,,,,So I should be in Arizona, Monday night, New Mexico, Tuesday night, Oklahoma, Wednesday night and Kevil, Kentucky USA,,,,or CSA, on Thursday night,,,,,,
Not yet Brent, unfortunately. Yesterday we left and everything went quite smooth untill we arrived on LAX. There was a huge line at Customs, and it took us almost 2 hours before we where through. So we missed our flight to Memphis. Delta could rebook us to the next flight, but that would be next day, same time at 6.45pm.
That meant we had to stay in LA for the night. We decided that we would better make the best of it. I found on maps that Venice was pretty close by, we decided to get a hotel there. As I was a fanatic Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 player (that's an old videogame which has a Venice area level in it), this place was on my list of what I would like to see. Today we spend time biking around and explore the Venice area and Santa Monica as well. We had a pretty fun day. You win some, you lose some, thats what they say right?!
Now we are on the airport again, waiting for our flight to Memphis, which is, ironically, delayed for 1,5 hour. Oh well.....
Well, California certainly isn't a bad place to be stuck for a day or so! Glad you guys made it over ok...looking for seeing how your Adventure continues!
Welcome to the USA, I hope your trip is fantastic. If you travel to Wyoming and need anything or want to have dinner just let me know. I also have a shop and would be more than happy to help with any repairs or maintenance that you may need along the way. Our town has a very nice park with free camping, alongside a nice little river at the foot of the mountains.
Vanners are definitely a friendly bunch of folks!!! This should be a memorable trip for Thijs and Robin and for the rest of us if we get to see lots of pics...hint, hint hint!

We haven't started taking many pics yet. We were busy today trying to take care of the legal things to transfer the vehicle to Tice. We started the day with a good southern breakfast of Eggs, Bacon, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. Robin on the right. Tice in the middle. My friend and the seller of the Supervan Jim Tooloose on the left.
Well, here is the van! Very happy with it! We are gonna sand all the primer of because it's not that good, and give it a fresh layer of cheap paint so it is protected. And get some new weatherstrips. But then it would be ready to go! Ofcourse we will also build in the interior.
Nothing like Southern Hospitality! Looks like everyone's happy and the van looks nice and solid! Hope you have a great adventure in your Vintage Van! You've already gotten to visit with Duane, the Econoline Guru, something we'd all like to do...
