They were below the existing tail lite, and really don't add anything to the appearance of the van.

The 1967 SuperVans had the reverse light incorporated into the rectangular tail lights, all the other Econos had those separate round lights that stuck out.

I seem to remember a thread with an A-Van that had some small round led backup lights that looked pretty nice. I think it may have been Millwrights van, not sure.
