    A couple a days ago i own ,a 62 E van ,whith the old 144 cid engine .and a3 on the tree.
    Just wont to know if it possible to mount a ,automatic trans on it , hope you can give me some good knowledge !
    And some details of the van .
    The are verry rare over here in Belgium
    Otherwise i gonna put a small block Chevy in it (283 cid )

    I guess the question is do you want to drive it or sit around looking at it waiting for parts,,,,,,,,these vans will take any engines or transmissions,,,,,a big 6 cylinder or small v8  would probably be best,,,,,,,,whats the common engines out there that people might be using in their hot rods?   maybe Diesels?     How much is gas out there?     That Chevy engine uses a lot of transmissions,,,,,,,right now the 700R4 and 2004R are the popular ones,,,they are overdrive transmissions,,,,,,the TH350 and PowerGlides were used before them,,,,,,,,but I would use something that is kind of common out by you......

    Since you are in Europe, it's going to be a matter of what's available over there for a reasonable amount of cash.

    Yes, In 1964 they offered a C-4 with the correct bell housing and mount to fit. They are hard to find over here and I'd bet impossible over there. I think Vic might have one. He's a member here. The C-4 also requires a different set of engine mount arms than stock.
