,,,,,nope,,,,,,I see that sometimes they put a bigger bushing in the forward end of the right front spring,,,,,maybe to compensate for the engine being closer to it,,,,,what size is the hole??

Re: 65 sportvan spring bushings
I have one spring put back together and ready to put in. I have the other 4 bushing put in the rear part of the spring and ready to go back on the van, so as soon as I can get it. I mounted my new shocks and got my king pins replaced so now it is just to mount the springs and get the axle back on.
I dont have Tie Rods yet, still need to look up which tie rods I need for it.

Re: 65 sportvan spring bushings
Ok so I got the drivers side mounted and ready. I was looking at that larger hole and I came up with a plan. I had some pipe that was 1.600 outer diameter and 1.325 inner. Going to get another piece of 1.325 OD at 14 ga should be 1.125 ID which would make it the same as drivers side. Going to stop for a piece on my way home tomorrow from work.

Re: 65 sportvan spring bushings
I tried finding some pipe to be able to reduce that bushing hole down but I am not having any luck. Don, do you have any advice on where to locate the correct bushing set up for that spring?

Re: 65 sportvan spring bushings
Ok,,,,,I stopped over at National Spring,,,,,there are 1.500 bushings,,,,( #2004 ),,,,,so IF you think you need 1.600 bushings,,,,maybe the hole has spread open a little on your springs,,,I think if you buy 2 of these bushings and trim them a little long, (since they are for the 3" wide 2nd Gen springs), they will squash tightly if they are a little loose in your spring....or they might just be the right ones....

Re: 65 sportvan spring bushings
Was I supposed to get an outer shell for the bushing I got? All I got was the bushing themselves...

Re: 65 sportvan spring bushings
,,,,,IF,,,,,,,you did not totally destroy the outer shell of the old bushing getting it out, you can reuse it as a shim and install a 1.500 bushing,,,,,or just get the 1.600 bushing,,,,,,

Were those from that same place I got the other bushings? Do you happen to have the part numbers?

Re: 65 sportvan spring bushings
I went there and they told me the closest they had was that 1.500 inch #2004 bushing,,,,HOWEVER,,,,at home I found a 1.600 inch #2061,,,,,,so I would call Ben at National Spring and tell him if a #2061 is a 1.600 bushing, sell you 2 of them,,,,,,it uses the same sleeve you got for the other bushings you bought and I would say those bushings that worked on the other front spring will work on the rear and you might just want to buy 2 more bushings and 2 sleeves to do the rears some day.....
