There is electricity in the air,,,,,at least in the No Door,,,,,nice piece of copper tubing in the fuse box,,,,(wonder how many amps it is),,,,,That hazard switch looks pretty ugly to be next to the blower switch,,,,so it will probably go on the bottom or under the dash,,,,,,might as well put an electric fan on it,,,,,we wouldn't want it overheating while trying to get back on Vanishes's trailer,,,,,

Here's a photo showing where the 4 way flasher unit is mounted on Rob's Sportvan. In the middle of that panel you seem to notice it hanging out below less.

It is still pretty visible when seen from lower:

My flasher switch is mounted just like Vanagain's. If it had the knob on it, it would pull toward the floor. Can anyone tell me what pieces I'm missing?

Now I understand. I installed a bulb and pulled the switch to the on position and everything worked perfect.

All I need is the red knob. Anyone have any ideas for a replacement?????????

    Here's a never-installed NOS flasher from 63-64 on eBay:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1963-1964-NOS-4-WAY-FLASHER_W0QQitemZ180398484817QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_100?hash=item2a00966d51&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245#ht_500wt_948

A real bargain at $525, because they often sell for over $600! Razz

That one is for an Impala,,,,,,but the 64-66 Chevy Malibu, Chevy ll , El Camino, Pick ups, Corvette and Corvair, used the same turn signal switch on the Chevy Vans which have the same connectors on it.

    Post by donivan65 Sun Oct 04, 2009 10:32 am

That wiring can be harder than it needs to be if you don't have a plan for it. I ran 2 wires down by the gas pedal and back to the temp and oil senders. I ran 6 wires to ground under the dash for the 3 gauges and 3 back lights. I ran the 3 hot wires with an inline fuse to the Ignition Unfused terminal on the fuse box,,,,,,I ran the backlight wire to the terminal on the Panel light fuse. That whole fuse comes from the dimmer section on the headlight fuse. I ran a wire up through the channel above the drivers window all the way back and down past the left rear tail light through the fuel sender grommet to the rear lights. And I found why there was a piece of copper tubing instead of a tail light fuse,,,,,,the right rear tail light wire that goes inside the channel over the rear doors was burnt from being pinched by a metal clip that holds it into place,,,,,,now that is something that we need to check on,,,,,,,
