Just thought I would pass this on,
I did some calling and found out that State Spring Service in Grand rapids MI. still has prints for making springs for my 65. sounds like 650$ will get all four, a 6 and 7 leaf combination for stock. Their number is 1-800-727-8729.
Now, if I can get time to get there!

They set me up with new bushings, the spring eye bushings were in place, they sent me a bag of harris bros bushings for the shackles, I had to trim off about 1/4 of an inch on one side of each pair to make them fit okay.

Most medium to larger cities still have "Spring shops" that will make any leaf spring or re-arch or repair them.

Acme Spring is still around I think in a lot of locals.

Or at least I think. Been about 5 years since I had need of a spring shop.

Id think you'd be right crazee ,, this shop has done our heavy trucks over the years. Just didnt have a reason to ask them about small stuff til I got the van. made me happy when they said " think we still have the prints around for those".

Just this little bit has maxed out the stock shocks, about 2 1/2 " beyond stock ( thats what I was aiming at anyway) , But it hasnt been driven to get everything settled into place yet. I made my own shackles so the bushings are a still snug.

OK, New spring are in. Rides awsome. cheers

Did learn a few things in the process. The pass side front spring that was sagging was not the right spring scratch Turns out it had been replaced at one point and with a softer and lesser rated spring. That was what caused the sagging. Shackle bolts came out very easy like they had just been installed yesterday, everything was in great shape too. And since I was going to replace the front ones I just had to replace the rears too. Took about 40 min and 2 beers per spring with no issues at all !!! bom

So, what I have now is 1 very good front spring and 2 almost perfect rear springs if anyone has interest before they hit eBay. Let me know.

I think those different sized front springs are normal to compensate for the drivers weight and the offset of the engine,,,,,,,,,I have seen that set up on several vans,,,,,,,,

Maybe but it was causing the front pass side to sag real bad. Either way I'm new all the way around and have one and two good rears as spares. Sure someone will need them sooner or later.

I guess the springs sag if they always carry a heavy load or they have a lot of miles on them from flexing a lot on rough roads. But there sure is a market for those springs for someone looking to lower their ride,,,,,,So when they are off, side by side, can you notice if they have the same arc?

This one was replace with an incorrect spring. They have the same arc but the replacement one has a lesser load rating and sagged under the add'l weight. No biggie, done deal and she's riding high and level now. Ready for the 15" centerlines and all this brake and disc conversion stuff I've been collecting.
