how to remove the windshiel wipers? (dumb question)

this may be obvious, I did try a search and found lots of info in windshield install/removal. but I need to get the wipers off. before I do something dumb in an attempt to remove them, figured I'd ask here first. surely a simple solution and I want to do it right once. sanding back layers of paint.

btw, found the number #21 had been painted on the side door. that made my day.

It's a clip under the wiper arm at the base. Push in and pull.
