Re: 1000hp 300ci motor
Hi Mike,
Wow, that motor is literally "red hot" ha ha.
I'm pretty sure it is not a 300cid but the Australian redesign 4.0L called the
Barra 240T. Nizpro Turbocharging, were the first to extract 1,000 hp from
a Barra 240T engine, with carefully designed cams, manifolds and turbocharger.
With Motec engine management the engine rev limit was increased to 7200RPM
and it produced 740 lb·ft of torque at only 3500RPM. A custom crank, conrods
and pistons were used but the cylinder head was left unmodified apart
from the camshafts and valve springs. The engine was available to the public,
but at a price tag of over AU$38,000!
Leave it to the Aussies to have that engine available to the public!!! ha!!!!
Really enjoyed this clip as I'm rebuilding my Ford 250cid six right now.
