So stoked. Finally have my motor done and in. Last step is to cool this baby off. Brought my original radiator mount to a shop and they matched up a new on for 225$. Thanks to all for the inspiration!

Re: Motor is in
funny, that Carter BBD looks like the same carb that's stock on my '65 273v8 (but the linkage is on the other side). If you ever need to buy a reman one they sell them at Summit under the Holley brand now. Rebuild kits can be had at Napa etc.

Re: Motor is in
Motor looks great, but I have to ask and please don't take it wrong. You spent all that time making a engine look good, but you don't spend 1 minute cleaning the crap out of and around your thermostat housing, what's up with that? Granted it may not be seen but geez, that looks like $h!t!! JMHO

Yes i am lame ...actually i had it set up and bench running before i installed it, so what your seeing is the residue rust from that. I have since re cleaned it.69A100 wrote: engine look good, but you don't spend 1 minute cleaning the crap out of and around your thermostat housing, what's up with that? Re: Motor is in
that radiator looks like it is shoehorned in. Not much room for air to circulate and no room for an electric fan if you ever need one

Re: Motor is in
Wrong...but thanks. Electric fan is in, although it was not needed. It runs cool as a cucumber, even in traffic.vanishingbreed wrote:that radiator looks like it is shoehorned in. Not much room for air to circulate and no room for an electric fan if you ever need one

Re: Motor is in
I'm curious as to what ya came up with for an upper hose ? It looked like it might be a tough one to route ?

Re: Motor is in
Not to bad. It actually ended up being a basic 90. I think the picture is a bit off looking. In the next week or two i'm planning on pulling the d-house off to do a bit of insulating so i'll take some new pictures.

vanishingbreed wrote:what size electric fan are you running?
Fan. I actually have it located at the bottom of the radiator. Its a basic universal from Jegs. Diameter is 11".
