    #s on motor ??? Empty #s on motor ???

Post by gkpost Fri May 11, 2012 12:55 pm

Does anyone know what the #s on the chevy 250ci mean ? I need to know when my motor was made. There's a GM with a 78 under it and I "assume" that means 1978, But we all know the joke and its been true to many times in my life.
    Thanks as usual

usually the casting nos will get you in the ball
park but the 230 and the 250 have the same nos
you will need the stamping nos on the block next to
the dist. google the id stamping and you will eventually
get the info you are looking for.
