Good news, bad news : Good news the very undercoating thats a pain to scape off has been good for saving the undercarriage of this van. Bad News is like any project like this you find more rust than you hoped for and found some not so good body work also. All in all for a Michigan van it's still very little rust.

I've never chimed in on this, but I've lurked... this is turning out awesome! Would you be able to share how the shop spec'd the custom springs? IE how different are the from the stock specs? Maybe some ratio exists that can be recommended for E's and A's!

WOW! THAT'S TOTALLY AWSOME! I AM DOING MY REAR FENDER WELLS THE SAME WAY. I DIDNT THINK ABOUT FINDING A DONOR FOR THE CENTER SECTIONS. DO YOU KNOW OF A DONOR FOR THE ECONOLINES THAT WOULD HAVE THE SAME FENDER WELL? HAVE YOU GOTTEN ALL THE SAND OUT OF YOUR EARS YET? LOL! ARE YOU GONNA PAINT THE UNDERCARRIAGE WITH A RUST PAINT LIKE POR15, OR RUST BULLET? I WILL BE ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR MORE PICS OF THE AIR BAG INSTALL, IT'S LOOKING SWEET! - GABE - Shocked

gotavan just cut about 2-3" around out from the lip, I will trim the rest later. Let me know when you have it out. Maybe I can pick it up on Sunday??? Scraper Don maybe interested in the rest of the van.

Balcones1, My donor panels for the tubs came from the sides of a van and not the wheel wells. They were tacked in and bend to shape. I'm using a rust convertor made by eastwood then primer and black paint.

    Thanks gotavan see you Sunday

Nightmoves I hear you, it like replacing a black roof with black roofing (no one know you did a thing) Because it's a Michigan van cleaning up there will show me what I'm really dealing with. Plus when the air tank and lines are put on I won't have to remove all that crap to paint. And also while I'm cleaning up might as well get those Disc brakes and master cyl and new brake lines on there. This is how it's been going in 10 differant directions. Have to do this to do this then the same thing happens with the next step. Guess what I'm saying is it all ties together.

If I do this, that'll have to be done. But if I do that, those won't look right, unless I do these. But them over there have to come off first.
For some strange reason I bet you can follow 'ThaT'.Haaaa ! Enjoy
