I haven't really looked that over very close yet. I think it's fine but may not be as nice as I think. I'm keeping the first gen doghouse and doing a Mod to it like Billski's 66. But all that has to wait till I get the bad lowering job fixed. Right now the whole front end moves side to side. After the bags I'll be able to dig into it. First thing pull that tired 6 out.

They are just starting it and yes they are going to notch the frame. Because of how I got the van I have to do this first. After this is done I'm going to pull that tired 6 then make a custom doghouse for the 8.

[i]Well they are not done with it yet, but it is about half done now. It now has new leafs all the way around. The leafs will be more to keep things in line and the bags will support it. The frame has a small notch in it now. The rod shop right now is looking into what bags will work the best. Heres some pictures of whats be done.[i]

Might be a little early for this statement, but no shim under the leaf spring up front? I thought they all needed them.

G-man , Did they notch the frame in front too, I thought they would of fliped the front springs too?? On my NY 65 that was the hardest to get low . Have you seen it stting on the ground yet???

I'm pretty sure it's not notched in the front and I haven't seen it low yet. Still have to get the bags on there to see the full affect. This is a budget lowering and my guess is it won't fully go to the ground, but think it will be pretty low still. To get it to the ground I would have to mess with the front wheel wells and that would bring the seats up to high for my liking.

gp I will check to see if they are planning to shim the leafs between the spring and front axle.

No shims on my 65 when I took the springs off, just a super short one at the bottom of a 6 leaf stack.

mattvinc the springs for the most part will keep the axles in place front & back. The support will come from the air bags.

Good New air bags were ordered today. The rod shop thats doing the work just returned from the SEMA show and found a company that he feels has the best bags for my van. After everything is finished I will get the part #'s for the bags and the manufacture of them. The leafs are from Eaton. ( Mike the shop owner knows the owner of Eaton and had them custom made )
