I Just joined the Vaning Fraternity with a 65 Series one Chevy van , no windows or doors (someone did put after market windows in the rear 1/4 & a sun roof but what the hey. It came with a V8 that sounds like it needs lifter help & mufflers ( long headers no mufflers) I'm in the process of getting her ready for paint , before & after pix soon.

Thanks guys , the van came up all of a sudden on Craigs list & I could not resist it, She's going to need some engine work but otherwise , now we've almost done the dent work she'll be ready for paint . No rust either which was the major reason to buy , plus the price Smile

Thanks for the welcome & if the windows work out that will be some kind of record , join a group & get the missing parts in a couple of hours , amazing.

It looks like I joined the right group, there are 2 more of us at work 1 looking for an A100 short window van the other a 60's Econoline Short Van .The membership will be growing Wink

    Cheers

    Welcome Limey,
You got to love the west coast. A V8, no-door , no rust early just appears on craigs list and probably for a great price. Don't take it personally just some East Coast Envee
We love Pics, so post them when you can.

Here is my old girl as found on Craig's list I added the grill which is not going to be fitted but just surface mounted for something a bit different. She's going Gold tomorrow , we've been stripping the paint & fixing the dents this weekend.

    Welcome!!!
Just my.02.. Be careful with an aftermarket grill... It may not let in enough fresh cool air in, and with a V8, it could heat up in there... Does it have a bellypan???

Yes thanks for the tip I'm aware of that , the grill is only there for a different look , time will tell, There is a wooden !!! scoop arrangement to get air in there I'll be replacing that with steel .

scoop will always help alot, and if you want to fill those window holes find a old school bodyman and you can bring your rare no door back to its former glory

can you give us a better picture of the grill???? And whats if from???

Cheers on the comments, the grill is from an English Prefect from the late 50's , I've had it up on my wall for years & it gives the van a "smiley face" ala Chevron cars. It's not being fitted properly. We could do the side windows here but I'm just doing a quick makeover at the moment , who knows what the future will bring.

Cheers it's a heavy metallic & for $600 I'm really happy , there are a few flaws but I'm not building a show van , just a fun van, for my Kona Coffee business.
I need one of those stickers you have in your avatar Digz, very 60's groovy Smile
