Newbie paint questions

Does anybody have a source for OEM paint codes? Like a PPG chart or something?

Also, were the doghouses originally painted black from the factory? If so, was it a matte or gloss? Mine is kind of a mish mash of 44 year old patina.

i'm not sure how to post a link, so i'm just going to type it. www.autocolorlibrary.com they have a online metropolis of paint charts dating back to the 20's. the problem with viewing online is they have been scanned and resolutions on monitors reaks havoc sometimes. but it's usually close enough to tellif it's what your looking for. the best thing to do is pick out the color code you think it is ,then go to your local napa or cheap paint store and have them mix up a pint or even rattle can just to spray to verify, then go to your paint shop to get the good stuff.
