Welcome to the site. Can't help you with your question, but be sure one of the Dodge guys will when they see it.

Heat shields?

Re: Newbie with a question
Yeah, Thats what I was told. Heat shields. They go under the front of the van and direct air to the front of the radiator. Supposedly I will have cooling problems with out them in place. I live in a pretty hot area of the province and would like to install them. I have two or three different types that are all similar but none the exact same. They were in the van when I got it. There were also the parts for a couple of different doghouses. One single latch and a couple double latch. When I asked the guy he said they were heat shields and told me what they were for. If they arn't for that, it might explain why I can't figure them out. HaHa

Re: Newbie with a question
Belly pan... they do channel air through the radiator. Without them, the air will travel under the rad, providing no cooling! I have one coming... three pieces? I know my Econoline one has three...
I'm so new with A's though...

Re: Newbie with a question
Ok the single dog house latch was 64-69 double latch was on the 1970 modles they should all fit your van. Belly pan, ill try to describe it to ya, . 3 pieces 2 small 1 big, the 2 small ones bolt to the inside of the frame, flat side toward the ground. The top is shaped to accomidate the swaybar. The big pannel bolts to the small pannels and to the nose of the van. hope this helps.

Re: Newbie with a question
first pic is left side cover. note the large bump out is for the six cylinder carb and intake clearance. the second shows the right side and the bump out for the alternator. now some say the dual latch was in certain years but this engine cover came out of a 1966 six cylinder van. might have been changed at some time. hope these help...........jeff
