Newbie with A100 Question Empty Newbie with A100 Question

Hi all, I'm a newbie, just have a question about A100 front axles. There's mention of 2200# axles and 2500# axles, what's the difference? Thanks.

I'm no expert (only be into A's for about a year) . But I think that the 2200lb axle used 10" front brakes. And the 2500lb axle used 11" brakes. And I also think that the brake backing plate for 10" and 11" brakes use a different bolt spacing pattern. So there would be two different spindles also (one for 10" pattern/ one for 11" pattern. I would think that the spindles (should be interchangeable)/ unsure of that.
Maybe someone with more info will know more. santa rendeer

Thanks, I'm just wondering if the spindles are the same, and if the hubs interchange.

everything rustytoolss is saying is correct, bigger drums, brakes, & backing plates,
from what i looked up the wheel cylinders & the front bearing are the same,
so I would say the hub and spindle are also the same,
If Scottie logs in he would know, and also Rod may as well.
If I had to roll the dice i'd bet they are the same,
My opinion is depending on what you are doing maybe front disc is the way to go.

Thanks for the info. So 2500# axle just has better brakes for better stopping, not bigger bearings for load carrying capacity. I'm definitely going with the disc brake conversion. Thanks much!
