    Nice start on the van.

Regarding screws though the tank. That's what the previous owner did when they put a floor down in the A100 I have. I found it when I had to change the fuel hose between the tank and filler neck and decided to drop the tank to check it out and was amazed that after removing both straps the tank just hung in the air like magic. I pulled and pulled, never thinking it was screwed to the floor, and after quite a bit of effort finally got it down to see that 8 screws were through the floor into the tank. It was then that I took the tank in to get it repaired and lined. Bottom line, it can happen. Scott...

    Floors 90% done.

Layed down some truck bed liner after grinding down the surface rust and treating with rust inhibitor.

Holy shit so stoked on the tip to watch the gas tank. I had drilled the wood before laying it down and I woulda been super bummed if I didnt check. Hence the wood putty which is sanded and gone now. ALso put in a new vent since the last one was hacked, broken and not sealed at all.

Woulda drove it around today but I ordered the wrong thermo tec heat shield for the doghouse. Drove to 6 auto parts stores and nobody carries it in stock. Bummer high no weekend cruising for me.

Floors done. Got a new bench seat from a currant Econoline. It has good lines matching the front seats. Once I have it recovered it will match nicely and has a shoulder belt for my daughter! Got some bolts but ran outta daylight. Need to get some big flat metal slabs too to use on the bottom for extra supports. Also  pulled the doghouse and added some thermo tec since it had nothing. Threw some paint on it too.

Looks like some nice neat work! The rear seat does match pretty closely to the fronts. Thanks for posting pics!

Congrats! Always a good feeling to get back on the road. What did the family think? Was everyone as thrilled as you were? Very Happy

    Awesome!

I bought new exhaust, just like what I have on there(not rusted out) and I went to change them out and they are welded to the header pipes where they should just slip in. I was thinking of just cutting them of and using them still. Thoughts?

"Slip In" is a misnomer with exhaust. Take a tight fit so it doesn't leak, add a clamp that deforms both tubes, then let it rust. Torches and a big hammer are the mildest way to slip them back apart.

I'd either cut and reweld, or weld a set of flanges if you plan on uncorking it any time in the future. New guy A108 - Page 2 Cf13a8f9_2cents

    Thanks Rod

Im gonna pull the whole thing out at the header and try the cut and clamp idea.MAybe weld them back together.

yes 2 of them one covers the hole area and a small one on the bottom, i think the small one is for draining the fluid from the converter without removeing the starter to remove the biger one, in other words you must remove the starter to install te big one first, good luck finding them, the next time i'm out in the garage i'll take some pictures of mine and post them for you
