Re: MY 61 ECONOLINE P/U IN PROGRESS
OK, BEEN WORKING MORE IN THE GARAGE. ALMOST FINISHED WITH THE FRONT GRILLE AND BUMPER FABRICATING. I ENDED UP CUTTING OUT 3 INCHES FROM THE CENTER OF THE ORIGINAL FRONT BUMPER AND WELDED IT BACK TOGETHER WITH A SLIGHT VEE TOWARDS THE REAR TO HELP IT BLEND WITH THE CURVE OF THE GRILLE. I STILL DONT KNOW ABOUT THE POSITION OF IT YET, STILL MOVING IT AROUND AND LOOKING AT PICS. I ALSO WENT CRAZY ON THE STEERING SHAFT RELOCATION AND ENDED UP BUILDING A CHAIN AND SPROCKET SET UP TO POSITION THE SHAFT 8 INCHES FORWARD. IT ACTUALLY TURNED OUT PRETTY COOL AND I OVERDESIGNED IT TO BE VERY STRONG. I SAW A TYPE OF SET UP LIKE THIS IN A ROD MAG, AND IT LOOKS COOLER THAN UNIVERSAL JOINTS. ANYWAY HERE'S SOME PICS.

YOU GUYS ARE AWSOME!texasjohn wrote:looks good, the bumper just looks to stock for allthe work your doing. What about some bumperettes.....love the grill
