Here is the new parts van I just scored. It used to belong to wsds radio and then the michigan millia had it for a mobile transmitter. Complete with blue shag carpet, generator, LOTS of RUST, and a spare lawn mower gas tank mounted to the dog house for the 318 to run on.

22,000 orig miles... only thing bad so far has been one tail light can, headlight rings are only good if you don't have any. The long stainless moldings on the left have been cut down due to the generator. Sad I'm thinking about taping them on my pickup to see what they look like before I put them up for sale. Roof windows are good, but the roof has been cut and sags from the weight of the a/c, so it is going to meet the sawsall in the a.m. Should have the body cut down to the floor tomorrow since the only good sheet metal is the front doors and nose. Once I get it down that far it will be time to see if the old girl fires or not. Hub caps are good, the 4th one is inside and has a small dent and are for sale. (15")
my door tag lists the rear end as a 39??? I guess that means 3:91???? 318, auto trans will be available soon if someone needs one.

Be sure to take all those small parts also, pop outs , switches , gauge panel etc... Use those parts for trades if you don't need them

You know it... I even found that some of the pop outs are factory tinted, along with the flat windows in the rear. Matt has been going crazy with the screw drivers and 1/2" wrench taking all the little parts off while I have been getting the a/c and rack cut off. steering wheel only has one small crack so it is ear marked for the pickup and the dash pad goes to the 68' pop top.

Hopefully I'll at least have the pickup in primer by then. It's been a slow go with all the weekend work due to end of fiscal year money and obama construction funds, not much time for sand blasting.

The funniest part of this find is that the van was only 2 1/2 miles from my house. The guy that had it bought a trailer from a friend and he had seen mine before and asked him if I wanted another one.

We always think there are none around us and then we find one very close. These vans are not as common as most other cars and truck, not as rare as you might think

They are usually full of "stuff" and used as a storage shed most of the time too. This one had a hide-a-bed in the back to fortunately I got to leave behind when we picked the van up.

There are a few parts that are swapping spots with the ones I have collected for the pickup. Very Happy And a lot of parts that are going to go up for sale to cover the cost of the van. Everything is cut down to floor level now except the nose that I think is going over to the pickup also. Tomorrow night I'm going to see if I can get it to fire and move before I take the rest of it apart. After looking at the stainless trim taped on the pickup I decided it's a no go, so it's for sale.

some interesting pieces for sure. the "blue" steering wheel, seats, and door panels, are someones dream to have. then theres that onan gen set, holy crap you could light up a small town with one of those, about 6 kilowatts. i like the horn ring.

There is some black showing through the steering wheel, so I don't know if it's painted or not. Both of the seats have one split in the center that has blue duct tape on it. The generator was used to power the radio station tower when they were at an event away from the station. He wanted $400 with the generator, but I got it for $300 and bring the gen back to him for his garage. I think I am going to swap the column, steering wheel, and steering gear as one unit so I don't run the risk of damaging anything.

This van has a lot of stuff that both of the '67s and the '68 don't. I has blue plastic panels that go around all the pop outs and a extra piece of metal to dress up the edge of the r/s rear cargo door. It also has a day night mirror in the center of the windshield. I have to try the wipers, but the switch has a delay mark written on it (pic tomorrow) The front seats don't have the gap at the back either and they bolt in instead of having the 4 pins.

I have 2 other sets of seats that need to be redone that have the pin mounts, both sets are from '67. I also have another trans that can out of a '67 camp wagon, no idea if it works. This one I want to try and see if it shifts before I pull it out. I have a bunch of the little stuff to.

I wish I could bring myself to sell the blue panels, but they fit the '68 pop top which is a sportsman so they are going in there with the idea of selling it in the spring.

Mark, the first window I took out the tint was so perfect on I thought it was factory, but no such luck... After a couple of more I found some loose edges and it is film tint.

Got the fuel tank out tonight Sad and all you can say is it is an a100 fuel tank. It has about 100 pin holes in it after sand blasting the crap off of it, and 1 repair in the bottom that would need to be redone. It's no prize, but if you don't have one I guess it is better than nothing. Almost all of the problem areas are under that paper mat that they put on top of the tank and down the front to keep it from rubbing.
