i have a 66 a100 van. after the first oil change the rod knock was so bad i was afraid it would blow up. i think the po might have had put thicker oil in it to hide the noise? any how i have a 225 /6 to put in it. my prob is this. my old dipstick is all mangled. and the new motor has no dipstick in the block or pan. so can i buy a new dipstick that goes into the side of the pan so i can use my old pan? or drill out the boss on the new motor? thanx for your help .dave

Re: dipstick issues
i know this is a old post but if anyone has this problem like i did, my tube was still there but was damaged and when i attempted to fix it part of it dropped into the pan so that was my first project, drop the pan and get a new tube which was almost impossible so i went to auto parts and bought a chrome one (chevrolet) with dip stick, measured cut and installed, also measure cut and marked chrome one using the old one as template now the a100 is sporting chrome engine parts.
