170 dipstick length

Is there anyone who has a 170 motor and knows the oil dipstick is the correct one can get a measurement for me from the edge of the cap on the stick to the end. I don't believe mine is the correct one and want to check it's length. Thanks.

yup, i meant 170, hit the seven too many times!

177 through me too, My 67 170 is 12" from the end to the stop, hopefully you still have the depth stop on it! Add is 7/8" from the end, full is 1-5/8" from the end. If the stop is missing it is 4" down from the loop on top.
