    VIN decoding Empty VIN decoding

    Post by Echo64 Sun Jun 20, 2021 6:51 pm

    Greetings,

I recently aquired a 1964 Ford E100 Econoline van and i’m having difficulty trying to decode the VIN. Many attempts online were unsuccessful indicating an incoccect VIN.

    Any suggestions?

Ok, here we go. This is how the tag reads:

    5921190L-188078A 04 DD 4.11.1

    E100 90 4,930

I did find out that that apparently my tag is for a Canadian assemled vehicle. Only 6 digits, in my case 188078. After 1965, Canada adopted the US format, which resembles your tag begining with a letter. Makes sense, I reside in Canada.

Don’t now much more than that but its a start. Thanks for your help!

Can someone help me decode my tag. The only site I can find online that works is for first generation only. Title says it’s a 1970.also a link to where you get the info would be helpful so I don’t have to ask. Thanks

When I try that link it gives incomplete info because it’s not a first generation. Unless I’m entering the info wrong

Do you have a first gen, 61-67? Is the door that has the tag on it original to the van? Maybe at some point, this van got a different door and someone put a different tag on it... Just thinking out loud. If your van is a second gen, then we'd have to look up the Vin in a decoder for the second gen Econolines...

You might want to try joining a Second Gen Econoline Group on Facebook...they could probably tell you where to find the 2nd Gen VIN Decoder... Here's a Link to the Group...

Find your data translation here: http://econoline.org/vehicle_Canada.php?v=15253

You have a 1964 Mercury Econoline van painted Pagoda Green. See the link for more details.

Hey I live here in the Saskatoon area. Had vans and epups for over 30 years.
I recognised the data plate was Canadian. Just send me a text on here and there are a few of us here in Saskatoon with these vans and trucks.
My vin check here says Dynasty green. Close to Pagoda Green i guess.
