the 4l60 or 700r4 might have issues with top of bellhousing hitting rear of doghouse. in a second gen, there is a bump in doghouse to fit. i had already lowered my engine/trans to fit the 292 so i had no issues when i had the 700r4 but was forewarned it would not fit. during installing, i could see it would be tight if i hadnt lowered it. i do not think it would take much to get it to fit but it will be a tight fit or need minor adjustments to fit.

an education is expensive, weather you get it in college or learn threw your own experiences/mistakes. after towing the van, then the camper 400 miles home and buying another transmission, i fabbed a hanger that looped around the trans and used the factory tranny mount on the bottom. that one swung side to side and after making a couple different braces (both failed!), i just spent the $100 bucks on the speedway crossmember!!4L60e install Img_2038
