Vin number question Empty Vin number question

    Post by 32dooscoop Mon Sep 14, 2020 9:55 am

I'm trying to get my van registered for the first time in the UK. Looking at the registration docs that came with the van, the ID number starts 2D6, but on the chassis, the number starts 2C6 and on the plate inside the drivers door it starts 2O6. The following numbers all match just the first three differ. Is this normal?

It's going to be 20, two zero, decoding as an A-100 Wagon.

Now your next question is, How do I fix it?
This depends on if the person who can fix it is intelligent, thorough, and willing to research the question. I've provided links that show where the number is located, how they aren't always legible and what the numbering system is (NO ALPHA characters in second position). Most of the people in this position are not known and praised for the qualities I've listed, so I wish you the best of luck. If there is a company that provides assistance in these matters in the UK, I'd at least discuss the problem with them.

Well, I live in AZ but I doubt I can help you with the local MVD.
They messed up with the title.

The chassis number could be a light strike or just wrong. Since the tag in the door is correct and matches the info I provided, I will again say to try your local gov't agency or a company that handles these matters.
