Re: engine temp
Does the temp come down if you crank the heater?

Re: engine temp
Is the belly pan mounted under the van? What temp thermostat are you running?

Re: engine temp
210 is normal if you have the stock 195 degree thermostat. If you want to run at cooler temps you could install a 180 degree t-stat

Re: engine temp
The engine will almost always run 10-20 degrees hotter than the designated thermostat temp......I live in a place considered one of the hottest on earth for six months of the year and it almost never freezes here..... So I generally remove the thermostat completely and have found that the natural temp of a stock SBC cooling system when unrestricted is about 60-70 degrees above outside temp, in traffic, with the A/C blowing ice cubes.....I've never had one come even close to overheating after thermostat deletion as long as the fan shroud was in place and the fan clutch works...….You can buy a 160 degree thermostat, and I'd try that before deciding a problem exists... good luck!
Here is a couple of shots of the two-level scoop-pan assembly I've created as part of my stabilizer bar mounting project which consequently required relocation of the master cylinder...
First, an aluminum plate seals from the valance back to the master cyl crossmember... the first tier scoop is two inches below and the lower tier scoop is two inches below that and set back from the spring perches about two inches.... I had to tier and set back the levels because the front is very low and I don't want to scrape!
Here you can see the master that was relocated because of stabilizer bar interference... Also showing the two tiers of scoops
Right side rail and frame bracket that holds the stabilizer bar, scoops and master cyl crossmember...
