It's tapped at the back passenger side of the block... but most others are at the thermostat housing, after also absorbing heat from the head... I would guess if you were going with an aftermarket temp gauge, you might have to use a location at the front of the head... I don't know if they make thermostat housings tapped for a coolant temp sensor... is that what you are looking for?
