Day 23  on the road was the final day,,,,,starts off at the rest stop near Winslow Arizona,,,,,headed down through Flagstaff, Sedona, Jerome and Prescott and made it home,,,,,,,,

So got to unload and clean up everything,,,,,,,and make a few repairs,,,,,,,

More concrete?

oh,,,,,,,,,concrete,,,,,,lets see if I remember what that is all about,,,,,I am building up a carport whenever I feel up to it,
at Suzys ranch so she can get her van out of my driveway,,,we poured the middle slab of 3000 pounds before I  left,,,,,so now we can do another 7 x 10 foot section,,,,,,she can go get 2000  pounds of bags in here Ford pick up,,,,I get the rest with some steel mesh,,,,,

Nice work. I like the temporary structure so you don't have to work in the sun!

That helps loading 150 of those 60 pound bags of concrete into the mixer as well as digging up a ton of dirt for the footings,,,,,it gets over 100 degrees up there in the Summer,,,and its acomin,,,,,,but it mostly was put up 1st  to see where it should be so she can drive into it,,,,,its just a canopy that you tie down with stakes and ropes,,,,,,I build a 2x6" wood frame for it to sit on and use 4x8 sheets of plywood for sides and doors to make it more stable and hang  another tarp  on it to enclose it,,,,because there are LOTS of creatures just waiting to eat anything parked outside that they can crawl into,,,,,

,,,,and you just know the road trip is over when you drain the sewer tank out of the  motorhome,,,,,,

Don, are you going to replace that bumper or are you going to attempt to straighten it out?

,,,,well,,,,,lets see if the bumper wants to stay or be sent to the scrap iron pile,,,,,,,the motorhome can start it off,,,,,we got a 350 engine, 350 trans so lets see what  700 lbs of muscle can do with all those twists, bends and buckling on the bumper,,,,,,

I was afraid you were going to slice your tire until I noticed the jack in the pic...MacGiver at work!

I guess its about  time to take the repairing  over to  Dons Day,,,,,,,,,my little Honda windshield has just about had enough of the Chicago potholes, about 100 miles out of Chicago, I stopped off at a rest stop and noticed coolant leaking from the radiator so I went to a truckstop and put a bottle of stop leak in the radiator,,,,so I got to flush it out and check for leaks,,,,,,looks like the grille also  has had enough and lets see how close we can get  the bumper back to where it was for the last 40 years of its life,,,,,

Wow, this year's trip made a lot of work for you...much better pic of the jack method of bumper straightening...was that the "Vanny Pothole" in Chicago that took out the Honda windshield? You'll sort it all out, after all, you are the Van Man and Mr.Goodwrench all wrapped in one!!!
