Don by next week things might be back to normal or at least have the road that you usually travel open. I'll let you know before you get there.

You'll come real close to me. I'm 80 miles past Elvis, about 130 miles below Paducah. Right on I 40, Wave when you go by. Stop by if you have the time.

I used to cruise I-40 to West Virginia a few years back,,,,,here would be my favorite place to eat in Tennessee,,,,,,,,,you got Dolly and Bucksnort out there,,,,,,,,I will be jumping on I-55 at Memphis and heading up to Missouri, then crossing those miserable bridges over the Mississippi and Ohio rivers to get back down into Kentucky........

Metropolis IL. Home of Superman. Lil Chicago is gone, It's a mexican place now. That is a long way to get to Paducah. I thought you might just run up Hwy 45 to the Purchase Parkway. You could run up I 55 to I 155 into Dyersburg TN. then 51 into Union City and get on the Parkway there. Just don't try and run Hwy 51 out of Memphis. It's a nightmare. I like a little more scenery that our interstate system provides. I 55 is boring and I don't care for those skinny bridges myself. I 155 is lightly traveled and has nice big bridges. Have a good time on your trip. Keep us posted. I enjoyed keeping up with your adventures last year. I lived in the west suburbs of Chicago for years and miss it. My favorite Beef stand up there is the Spot at York and Grand in Elmhurst. Good stuff. My favorite Pizza place is Nick and Brunno's off Grand and Manheim behind the Jewel/Osco.

Not long after we got VintAGE-Vans.com up and running, we had a new member join our forum board. We didn't know him very well, but he seemed like a good guy... Then he announces he's off on a road trip and will be back in a month or so... Vanish and I are thinking some "kid" off to find adventure between getting out of school and having to get a job... We hoped he would come back and post on the forum when he returned... (we only had a handful of real members at that time)

To our surprise, he began posting from the road! Now we pictured him, this young kid, driving his red Early Chevy van on his travels, kinda roughing it like I used to do on road trips when I was young and dumb, but I always had fun....

Well we were wrong on several accounts LOL! But we were right about the fact Don is a real good guy, one of the best! Now every year around this time, we look forward to Don's trip and following along as he travels to Chicago and back home again! Very Happy
