I’m sticking with the old slant six and 3speed. The original one needed a full rebuild so I found a low mileage one from a 71 Dodge 1 ton National Guard truck.

WOW...Great job!!! You have done so much in a short amount of time. You are truly talented.

Is the sunken box behind the passenger seat for the battery or ? Is that another project that I see in the background under a car cover?

    Keep up the great work!!!

Thanks! Yeah, I’m moving the battery under the floor so it’s not right behind the driver seat. Under the cover is a 48 Plymouth coupe; finished it a couple years ago but now it needs some transmission work.65 Sportsman - Page 2 0af6aa10

Took me 9 years to finish that car. It was a disassembled, wrecked, rusted out heap when I hauled it home. Don’t ever want to do one that long again!

Doing 6 doors is almost like doing another whole car. Everyone of these things needed some kind of patching and all the bottom door catches were froze up and had bent rods. What a PIA; one more after this one.65 Sportsman - Page 2 31ba7910

It'll all be worth it in the end! Just think of how great it's gonna look when all is said and done...After 50 years, your van deserves to be pampered and brought back to life. If it helps your motivation, I think your doing a Fantastic job on bringing it back to it's former glory. You are doing it the way it should be done. It's like eating an elephant...one bite at a time. Please keep the pics coming. it's inspiring to the rest of us. cheers

through all the major door repairs; now just going back through each one and fixing some details along with checking the fit. Hinges were rusted, bolts broken, and the pins didn’t want to move so I took them all apart, fixed all the issues and getting the ready to paint.

I started painting the inside with some primer sealer this week; I’m going to get the inside and jambs painted, hang the doors, and then get the outside ready.65 Sportsman - Page 2 Fcf94210

I was full on Mr Miagi today; “Daniel-San, sand the floor!” Finished spraying the sealer on the walls, sanded the ceiling, sanded the floor, epoxy primered the floor and the jambs, and painted the inside of the front doors. I’m beat like a dog.65 Sportsman - Page 2 26c85d10

Lot of Real Estate there! You're really picking away at a furious pace...but it's well worth the effort for results like that. What color blue is that? Sharp! Twisted Evil
