Door Step Mechanism Empty Door Step Mechanism

Post by primaldesigns Tue May 26, 2009 4:29 pm

Does anyone know how the arm of the door step mechanism is attached to the door? When I bought the van, someone had a sheet metal screw holding them together. I know the screw was not original because it bent really bad.
I am wondering if a bolt belongs there or tapered rod or?

Door Step Mechanism Empty Door step pin

    Thanks Rip,

I just had the van painted. I will post pics this coming weekend. I have already posted the before pics and now I have to post the after pics. I do get a lot of smiles and thumbs up from people. You wouldn't know what size pin? I measured the hole in the arm and it measured 5/32. Does that sound about right to you? Sad

I wish I had the linkage and the cover. There's just a chrome arm and a B&M shifter handle. People are asking me if I shift with that Smile Smile Smile

PD that's about right, some of them were a straight pin with a keyring at the top and some were straight with a formed loop.
