inside door handle mechanism worn

My 64 has the old type interior door handles. The shaft ,that the chrome handle mounts on to is worn. Can the mechanism be repaired ?  also is it possible to replace everything, so as to use the flat paddle style interior handles ??

You can replace everything to swap it to a later style. Or just swap out the worn mount. I guess it really depends on what you have for parts doors in the hoard.

Will do that. I was also thinking of replacing the outside mirrors, with those from a 70s-80s dodge pickup . They have a wider angle of vison. and mount almost the same way as what came on the A100s. I noticed that Scottie had a few pairs of those when I was at his place.

Who is this Scotty and where is he from? You guys are pretty local to me.

I would have all the parts you would need for the newer door latches but I'm in Alabama but I will be in Michigan in July would you want to do both doors or just one

I am interested in a set of front doors or door mechanisms, but am in California. Anybody have a set out here?
