Just wondering what I should do here. The motor I have has a long water pump. I won't be running the stock fan set-up going with a electric fan. Wondering if I stay with the long pump instead of the short one will I hit the fan ??? My 69 has the short pump. Is eveyone running the short or long???

Re: Long or short water pump???
Long pumps are much more common and the brackets are ALOT easier to find for long pump... just something to think about. I had a short pump on my 72 Chevy truck and I had a very difficult time finding brackets that would fit it. My alternator bracket broke and then I learned how hard to come by they are. You can buy alternator brackets for the long pump off the shelf at most parts store... I looked all over at the junkyards and online, I finally ended up having the busted bracket repaired. I would run a long pump if there is room for one, just for ease of being able to find brackets.

I have a long water pump and still have plenty of room for my electric fan.
