Re: Motor shots
Not in a van, but here's the bad boy 500hp 463 cube roller cammed Pontiac Stroker we just built for my buddy's '67 firebird
Me droppin it in between the fenders
It ran like a bat outta hell... but the bummer is after about a day of driving it developed a pretty good oil leak at the rear of the pan, so now it has to come back out again! Work is never done...

Re: Motor shots
I think those Lincoln fans are puller fans and not push fans The one I have is out of a Lincoln Mark8 2 speed fan and I don't believe it's reversible...I could be wrong though???

Re: Motor shots
Honestly I don't know if it pulls or pushes, all I do know is it has heavy gage wires, 3 so I figure a low and high speed, and it seems to pull a lot of amps. I appreciate the info though and will use it as I figure how to get it to work. As I recall it came out of the Lincoln from the motor side of the radiator. That day at the yard I got the fan in the picture and a smaller one from a different car, so between the two I hope to get one to work at the front of the radiator in my van. If there is a diode in the circuit then it might not run in reverse, but I wonder if I bypass such a diode could it hurt the fan?

Re: Motor shots
Hey Mo_1040, one more thing, do you have a picture of how you set your fan up?

Re: Motor shots
It's a puller fan...one of the highest cfm fans out there. I am planning on putting mine in this weekend, hopefully?! When I get it in I'll send you some pics... here's a websight that talks about putting in one of these...

Re: Motor shots
The thermostat housing I got from Jegs. It was a little over $100. I got the valve covers off of Ebay for about $60... I got lucky on that auction.

Re: Motor shots
I was thinking about the inline raditator cap, but may go with what you got. And $60 bucks for those valve covers was a deal. Just lost out on two sets on ebay. Both went over $150
