    Pop out window hardware. Empty Pop out window hardware.

    I was wondering if any one knew where to find pop out window hardware. My latches are pretty worn, and the frame on one could be replaced. I've seen kits for VW buses that utilize the frame approach. I've also seen photos of other earlys with a frameless set up (photo attached). Mine is a '65, and my assumption is that the pop out window design was changed later. I'd love to be able to update my hardware, and I have no problem getting new glass to accommodate the frameless hardware. Any leads would be appreciated.

    As long as I'm on the topic of windows, has anyone converted one of the big stationary rear windows to a slider? Again, something I've seen on VWs.

    Thanks for your help.

    No reproduction pop out hardware that I'm aware of. I converted my '65 to '67 pop out glass and hardware. Nice upgrade.

    @chebby,
    I agree. It seems pretty straightforward. I just spent a good 2 hours looking at glass hardware. It's so simple but also so specific. I might just find a willing metal worker to help me figure it out.

    there you have it, our first "feedback" as to what I was saying/thinking (thanks!  I love you )...  seems simple enuff, right?  and if indeed it is, why are folks like bkaspr not doing the "point & click" thing and just getting it done?  because...  it seems to be a combination of the right glass hardware and the right "window" glass cut and the right "window rubber" and I won't pretend to know more than I already have no real clue about Rolling Eyes

    I was scratch  maybe if someone does....

    BKASPR,
    Have you tried ebay? There's a Dodge A100, early ('64,'65) cargo window latch for $80, minus the mounting hardware.

    I asked a fabricator for an estimate to make replacement frames for my '65 and he told me $1,500 each.

    I wound up replacing two of my rusted windows with later ('66-'70), used, frameless windows and repaired the other old frames myself.

    Try putting an ad in the "A" Parts Wanted forum here on VV.

    What size are Dodge pop outs,,,,,,Chevys with a frame are 17 3/4 high,,,,20 7/8 wide,,,,,,but those Chevy SportVan pop outs are usually rusted,,,,however,,,,,I made a swing out window out of an 80's GMC van for my van since it was user friendly,,,,and that means the frame was screwed together on the sides so easy to cut down and drill new holes ,,,,and a few tack welds on the hinge,,,,,
