Hi. New to A100's and wondering if I need a canister or spin-on style oil filter for my 225ci slant 6? From the looks of it, it takes a canister style but want to check here.

Most slant 6 engine use the spin on type filter. Also most early slant 6 engine use the long filter. When you remove the filter there will be a tube on the filter mounting adapter. Most early slants had a long tube=long filter, short filter will not fit.

Later slants had a shorter tube= short filter..but you can also use the long filter

Do not buy a FRAM oil filter, best way to tell somebody you have no respect for your engine.
