Safari Window Possibilities Empty Safari Window Possibilities

    Safari Window Possibilities _1211

I saw this Chevy with a Safari window setup which inspired me to see what is possible since I'm in primer and the windshield is out.

Never seen one in person and didn't know what would be needed to accomplish it.

Anyone ever do one/see one in terms of what hardware would be needed?

Also wondering how noticeable the hardware might be from the outside or if it would affect driving visibility.

Very curious how well it would keep out water since it wouldn't be a fixed window.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

There are several kits for VW split window buses for dual front windows and for the flat window older Beetles, perhaps the same hardware, the hinges and latches, could be adapted to a flat first Gen van window.  You'd have to make a custom frame for the glass but it could be done, maybe use a donor body and cut the sheet metal around the glass for the frame, that looks like what have been done in the picture, 'cool' idea!
