We have not perfected the decode of Canadian Econolines, but here is a link to what is known about your vehicle.
http://www.econolineid.com/vehicle_Canada.php?v=3499
The engine code is for a 144 cui, but your engine looks like a 240 cui. Could be a tag misprint, or just inadequate Canadian data. I'll keep looking into it.
Thanks for the data plate picture and the other pics in the other thread. Looks like a great Econoline.

Hello Steelrat.
I sent your info over to Jay Long at Econosrus yahoo group as he's done a lot of research in Econoline VINs. Here's what he had to say about your van.
Duane, thank you! I do decode the Canadian numbers, and have only recently figured out the monthly serial number blocks on the Canadian serial numbers. I can't guarantee with one hundred percent certainty that I'm correct on the Canadian codes, but if you'll settle for 99.9 percent I think I can help. ;-)
5 = Mercury make
92 = van body style
11 = Econoline series
90 = wheelbase
L = left hand drive
244253 = June 1965 serial number
A = 0 to 6000 pound GVW range
04 = beige standard interior
MM = Twilight Turquoise metallic paint
3.00:1 = axle ratio, 9 inch axle
W/B 90 = wheelbase inches
E-100 = Econoline series
3600 = 1/2 ton GVW rating
S = 1965 model year
Y = 240 engine
3 L/D = 3 speed light duty transmission
This one is from the next-to-last month of Canadian Econoline production. Starting in 1966 Canadian Econoline production was shut down, and US-built trucks were shipped north for the Canadian market. The MM paint code was on my "possible" list, but this is the first actual example reported. The Canadian trucks were available in some neat colors that weren't offered in the US.
Thanks once again.

Hope this helps.
