Re: 1966 Chevy G10
Nice idea, should stop the gas staining on the rear quarter that all these vans have.....you are really gonna appreciate driving this van down the road knowing all the great work you've done, wait 'til you get it out to some cruise nights when she's done, will all be worth it!

Re: 1966 Chevy G10
I was fortunate to find a real craftsman when it comes to sheet metal work. Four other body shops saw pictures of how the old gal looked and just turned away. I am sticking a small fortune into her, but is it worth it??? I think so. I'll have the satisfaction that i brought her back to life!!!

Re: 1966 Chevy G10
The Old Gal has been out at the body shop for 8 months now and is getting closer to the final painting. So much cancer that had to be repaired but I have a real craftsman working on her. Not like the Insurance company recommended panel replacing high priced body shops that are out there now days.
The door patch panels were cut out of the original side doors and hand formed[img]https://i.servimg.com/u/f18/19/03/21/29/01810.jpg[/img][img]https://i.servimg.com/u/f18/19/03/21/29/02010.jpg[/img]
Cancer-free outside.

Re: 1966 Chevy G10
I think you should call it the Phoenix because this one has risen from the ashes. I can't believe that this is the same van that got rescued from a sure death in the woods! Congrats on the unbelievable transformation. Your bodyman is a True Craftsman!!!

The metal work is pretty much done. Body filler and High build polyester spray is being applied.[img]https://i.servimg.com/u/f21/19/03/21/29/sept_513.jpg[/img]

Re: 1966 Chevy G10
The old gal was in sorry shape when I brought her out to the body shop last November. Jan has been doing a fabulous job and his brother Jay is a top notch metal worker. They are bringing the old gal back to Beautiful. With the money I have spent on her these past months, I have seen many very nice first gen Chevy Vans for sale. But I know what I got and I feel good that I saved her from going away.
