Nice work! Did someone tell you about it or did you just spot it in the woods?

LOVE to see threads like this.

1966 is the best year, in my opinion. Still had 1st gen style, but had upgrades such as: factory backup lights, wide opening grille for increased cooling, synchronized transmission.

Way to go for tackling the nose swap, and fixing the other needed areas of this van. Most people would consider this too much work, but you are going forward and the payoff will be huge

I spotted it in the woods when I went out to check on a 69 chevy pickup grill that I bought. I actually bought the whole truck for $250 but there wasn't much good on it other than the grill and the 250 engine (which I got running)

I was going to put the 250-6 in the 66 G10 but I got the 230-6 running. It runs better than the 250. I worked on it today. Finished hooking up the new fuel pump to the carb and installed a new battery. the choke cable is froze up so I have to deal with that next. The brakes are in very bad shape also, but the drums are still serviceable after being turned.

I'm not sure how much of the front clip will be used. I had it shipped from Tulsa OK. It's the whole front nose including the dash. I'll let the body man decide on how much will be needed. Basically it is the left headlight area that was wacked, but it also pushed in the left inner panel.

Have fun getting this old gal going again!  Extra long choke cables can be found in the Help section of any auto store, they have a 78" universal truck one, the van is about 54", easy to cut to length (pull the wire out first!), less than $10-15....just did mine a while back. Start asking around for headlight rims, hard to find in good shape, but some one here with a parts van will help you out...just sold the extra pair I had to a similar member here's project, was happy to help as you will find many others here are too!
