    Jack Placement? Empty Jack Placement?

Post by morbank Thu Oct 09, 2014 9:11 pm

Picked up an original jack and mounting bracket for my 68 Handi-van but I can't figure out where it's supposed to go? I thought the jack mounted in the rear corner on the passenger side but I can't find any holes that match the holes in the bracket. Anyone here still have their original jack and know where it's supposed to go?

Also, does anyone know the length of the original jack? The one I have looks right, but it seems a little short.

Rocky, does yours look like this?

I found this photo online (can't remember where) and it looks like the right place for a jack but I wasn't sure because if you look closely it's not actually screwed down. And my van doesn't seem to have any holes in this location.

That original jack don't look like any fun to jack up a van,,,,,,,you have to turn that lug wrench,,,,,,its probably too tall to get under the axle when it drops down from a flat tire and you'll be lifting forever to get the tire off the ground if you lift up from the frame,,,,,,,I surely carry  a 2 ton hydraulic bottle jack in my van......
