1964 170 to 200 swap bell housing Empty 1964 170 to 200 swap bell housing

I own a 1964 Econoline that has a bad Inline 170. The Engine head and oil pan were removed before I purchased it and has sat for years, otherwise it was complete. i also received a 200 supposedly removed from a 65 mustang in the deal. Just getting into the project I quickly noticed my bell housing from the 170 would not bolt up to the 200. I have the bell housing from the mustang but it is an inch or so longer and my transmission case is different from that of the mustang and will not bolt to it.
Is there a bell housing the will be a direct bolt on for this or do I need to scrap the 200 idea and find another 170? Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

Could it be that the 200 is an 80's model with a larger bell housing pattern? Looks like I may be looking for another engine. Anybody have one???

Sometime in the early 80's Ford stopped putting both patterns on the 200s. Check the casting code and see what year block you have. C=60's, D=70's, E=80's, I have a 65 Mustang 200, C5 casting code. and it only has the small pattern on it. I haven't checked it to be sure but I believe an Econoline bell will bolt right up. It's something I can check pretty easy if you need me too. I have a couple of 170 bells laying around here as well.
