Re: Solo Speed Shop Bills 66
Hey Van Nutts!
First off I'm 60 years old Sept 1st! I live 6 miles from Van Nuys Blvd. I was 17 Years old & had a 375 Hp 69 Camaro 396 4 Speed & traded it for a 66 Chevy Van Orange 6cyl 3 on tree & drove (Cruised) the piss out of it! We did everything you can do in that van fished, hunted , Babes etc! I have been very blessed in my life & have had many Cars & Trucks. I always wanted my Van back & had to be a 6Cyl I have a lot of fast cars so don't need speed! Saw the New Solo Van on ebay & had to have it! Previous owner found it in a warehouse it I think they put it away in the 80s it was a delivery van! 94K orig miles His name is Lowell & he did all the work & did a nice job! I bought it & found a bad #6 rod well blew it apart & right now rebuilt motor , trans a factory powerglide & I'm staying w/stock, rebuilt rear end, all leafs & frt end blasted & painted & all new brakes etc! Still working on it but will be ready soon! Again Tks for all the help & great site & Mr Donivan is super nice to list it for me as I have a hard time listing pics ( I'm Old ) Tks Bill Fowler / Solo Speed Shop

Welcome back to vannin'. That's a great looking ride. I don't care how much horsepower is in the garage, there is just something totally cool about these early vans. Maybe it's the memories we made in them. Enjoy, & keep on truckin!

Re: Solo Speed Shop Bills 66
Nope new one in & if good enough in 66 for Chevrolet its good for this ride! I have a E brake & I'm old & will be going slow!
My 32 Hotrod is a CQQL Ride! A old lady asked me what's it like to drive! I told her It's super fast & when you hit a bump it jumps 2 lanes right or left you never know & the brakes will not stop it! She looks at me & says why on earth would you drive it then! I told her because its a real Hotrod!! She walked away shaking her head! SOLO

Re: Solo Speed Shop Bills 66
Hey Dude, welcome, don't sweat the age thing, I just turned 60 in may, it ain't so bad...everyone starts telling you how great you look and you don't look 60....you start thinking about counting the years to retirement and what will happen to all your toys....just kidding! My story is similar, I had a '66 back in the early 70's and always said I will get another someday and I waited until only this past year to get another.....van looks great...
Here's mine at recent cruise night...basically stock drive train, mild custom interior, Cragar Soft-8 wheels....
