    On my '64 there is an approximate 2" wide dimple formed into the upper rear passenger side body channel where the wires run to the rear lights.  Sorry I don't have a picture, but its a stamped deformation on the edge of the channel about 1/2" into the interior side, any idea what it was for?  The only thing I can think of it was an 'access port' to slip the wires into the channel for the dome light and other wire connectors during assembly at the factory or was there some accessory that hung there? Take a look at your vans and see what I'm talking about....here's pic I found, not my van but the arrow shows the notch...

    You pretty much guessed . There are plug connectors in the harnesses that can be slipped in and
    out of those. The harnesses may vary depending on model for interior light junctions.
